Are my credit card details safe?
All credit card details are encrypted and passed through a secure payment provider, SECPay/Paypoint. SOMOD are not advised of credit card details for online purchases. In the event that credit card details are advised to us by you by placing an order by telephone, these details will be cross-cut shredded on completion of order processing. No data is passed to third party companies.
Can I change the details of my order prior to delivery taking place?
Yes, provided the items are standard (SOMOD or appointed suppliers) warehouse stocked items. Items being ordered and manufactured to customer size and specifications can only be cancelled or changed if the item has not gone into production. However, we would ask that you contact us immediately you know the changes you wish to make. Please bear in mind that in some instances changes to an order may well involve an additional charge and is likely to incur a delivery delay and that the original estimated time of arrival may not be met.
I’ve changed my mind and want to cancel the order.
If shipping from the manufacturer/warehouse/supplier has not yet taken place, you may cancel your order for a refund of the retail price of the goods but not the delivery/freight/shipping charges incured. If goods are standard stock items they may be returned at customers cost after first requesting a return authorization. Returned goods must be complete in original packaging and unused/assembled. Return charges are to be paid by the customer. Please note: All items ordered/manufactured/supplied specially to your size/colour/finish/fabric specifications cannot be cancelled once goods have gone into production. Any deposit paid for special customer order items will be non-refundable. In any event please contact us without delay to stop the order process.
As SOMOD only sells contemporary fashion furniture is availability reduced?
Product selections are based round product launches at major European trade shows. These tend to take place in January then Spring and Autumn. With this timetable fashions, colours and styles change relatively quickly meaning product life on the website is being reviewed monthly. However, we will always try maintaining a supply of items that prove popular. The advantage is that SOMOD furniture is always up to date and offering the very latest designs from our Europeam partners.
Will you contact me to arrange a suitable delivery date?
You will receive a communication giving an estimated delivery date, and this will be confirmed by our logistics partners. Should any unforeseen delay occur, you will be notified immediately. If the advised delivery date is not suitable, please contact us to re-arrange.
We reserve the right to apply and take additional delivery charge/charges if the delivery cannot be made due to customer not being available on the pre-arrange date to take or accept the delivery or not having suitable space/access/storage arrangements at the delivery location. Where additional delivery charges are applicable these will be charged at the actual unsubsidised cost and will incur VAT at the current rate.
Can I collect my order instead of having it delivered?
Yes. When you get to the checkout simply select the customer collection option in the Delivery or collection? section and then complete the normal checkout and payment process. Once your order is ready we will contact you to arrange a suitable collection date. All orders should be collected from our warehouse address which will be confirmed to you prior to collection (usually Didcot, Oxfordshire)
What do I do if my goods arrive damaged?
Although we take every precaution to avoid damaged goods being delivered, minor damages can occur during shipping. If this occurs, we need to know immediately within 24 hours so that remedial action can be taken without delay. Please keep hold of all original packaging, instructions, product lables and hardware in case the item needs to be returned to the manufacturer.

Delivery charges are calculted at 10% of the total order value per order capped at £70.00. This applies to deliveries to mainland England addresses (excluding Cornwall and Devon) when delivery is arranged for all items ordered to be delivered in one delivery drop. Deliveries to other UK areas: Scotland, Wales, Cornwall/Devon wil, in most cases, incur a delivery surcharge.
Can you send me a catalogue or brochure?
As the contemporary furniture industry is developing and introducing products frequently, our manufacturing partners don’t offer detailed brochures. However, please feel free to ask as we might be able to assist with email images and spec sheets. From time to time we get small print runs of hard copy leaflets, so please ask, we may be able to assist.
How easy is it to order items from SOMOD?
To enable us to offer your the best possible level of service we highly recommend that you contact us by phone, this will allow us to advise you on all options available to you regarding you purchase. We have a wealth of product information and knowledge at our disposal, why not use it!
How come your prices are lower than UK hight street retail
In most cases SOMOD selects and buys products direct from our selected manufacturers and not from distributors, this way we can to obtain the best possible pricing and pass these savings onto you our customers. SOMOD is the appoined UK sales office and agent for products from DINA Tapizados, Pedro Ortiz, Moveis Lusiadas, Gallego Sanchez and Milmueble which means we will always be able to offer the best UK pricing.
