UCARE (Urology Cancer Research and Education) is an independent charity committed to improving the treatment and care of cancer patients through research and education... Urological cancers represent nearly 20% of all cancers diagnosed in the UK each year.
Why UCARE?
The SOMOD company founder was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in autumn 2007 and very quickly and efficiently treated by the brillient, caring and friendly staff at the Oxford JR Churchill Hospital. Four years down the line with a continuing clean bill of health, it's time to give something back to the Oxford based UCARE charity. Not only in the form of volunteering time for UCARE collection days and donating a percentage SOMOD's profits but also spreading the word about male cancers and the need for men to check themselves on a regular basis.
Cases of Testicular Cancer are increasing and have been diagnosed in lads as young as 13 and men in their 70's. Good news is that it's a really successful cancer to treat with a 95% cure rate if caught, diagnosed & treated early.
Put simply, if something doesn't feel right down below in the NADS department, don't be shy, show your balls to the Doc and get them checked. It could save your life!
Young men think that only old people get cancer and older men think that testicular cancer is a young mans cancer with the result that they stop checking their balls!
Truth is...YOUNG OR OLD it's everymans cancer!
